With diversity, equity and inclusion at the core of everything the company does, Beam Suntory hosted multiple programs for our women colleagues to interact with senior leaders including members of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Inclusion Leadership Team (ILT) where they discussed our DEI vision, progress and how women can successfully navigate their careers at Beam Suntory.
At Beam Suntory, women representation is at 23.6% YTD 21’ vs 11.8% 19’ end (overachieved 2020 target of 20% by a 360 bps). A massive shift given the challenge of attracting female talent and the taboo around the alco-bev industry as well as the fierce competition to hire them. Around 60% Beam Suntory India positions were filled by women in 2021. Women in senior grades (7+) have gone up to 21% vs 11.5% in the last year. We also appointed a woman to lead India marketing (Ruchika Gupta) as part of the India leadership team.
To celebrate and highlight women and allow them to network with other leading women, we started a ‘Women in Leadership’ program that one can be nominated for. As part of the commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), the company aims to achieve a goal of having 50% women in leadership positions globally by 2030.
