Suntory Global Spirits India Launches CSR Initiative for Watershed Replenishment in Bhokarka

Suntory Global Spirits India has proudly unveiled a groundbreaking Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project focused on watershed replenishment in Bhokarka. This initiative represents a significant step towards sustainable water management and environmental conservation in the region.

The project is set to treat an impressive 200 kiloliters per day (KLD) of wastewater, transforming it into a valuable resource for the community. By implementing advanced treatment technologies, Suntory aims to ensure that this previously unusable water can be safely reintegrated into the local ecosystem. This not only addresses immediate water scarcity issues but also promotes responsible water usage among residents.

One of the most impactful aspects of the project is its groundwater recharge potential, which is estimated to reach 25 million liters annually. This substantial recharge capacity will help restore the local aquifers, ensuring a sustainable water supply for agricultural and domestic use. By enhancing groundwater levels, the initiative aims to improve the livelihoods of farmers and households in Bhokarka, fostering economic resilience in the community.

Moreover, the project will contribute to a significant reduction in carbon emissions, with an estimated offset of 14 tonnes of CO2 over a decade.
